I wouldn’t mind remodeling this unit to meet my thoughts but for now this unit does a great job. I had to use mine in a very mild wind the other day it was still effective enough to get the job done decently. Anything more than the slightest of breezes is no good for this kind of method for killing the mosquitoes though. It actually does a great job at keeping these stinking biting bugs down in numbers around the house. I normally fog the lots around the house as well as they are were these things breed in masses. I’ve had mine for a couple months now and it’s helped a lot. The only thing is the time it takes to walk around and fog the land. When there is no wind at all it’s a little harder, I do kind of like to have a very very gentle breeze because then I can stand at one side of the area and just let it slowly drift over it. LOVE BUGS: Yes the solution that black flag makes for these units also kills these pests, If you don’t get blessed by these annoying pests 2 times a year like we do down here in Florida, consider yourself extremely lucky! Their guts as they get plastered all over your car will literally eat your paint if left to sit on too long!. 12 of 13 people found the following review helpful. Not sure why others had problems, but definitely let this fogger pre-heat for about 2-3 minutes. Worked GREAT the first time and if I have issues I will revisit this review. By the way….it does actually help with the insect and mosquito problem. I noticed less grass bugs also. Make sure you let the fog settle into the grass and bushes, for best results. ************************************************************************************** UPDATE: May 9th, 2010. Since last year, I used for the first time a few weeks ago. Still working great. Again, let it heat up for 2-3 minutes and/or until there is a red glow. I did notice some liquid squirting out when I was not pumping, not sure if problem or not. One thing for sure…..it does produce A LOT of fog and I would purchase again. 13 of 15 people found the following review helpful. The first several bursts of fog work pretty good but after that the fogger starts squirting out steaming liquid insecticide instead of fog. I find that I have to reduce the trigger squeezing rate to one slow squeeze every 15 seconds in order to maintain satisfactory fog quality. The slow rate of fog production is a problem for me as I have a large yard and the rate of fog production, being less than what the manual claims should be happening, is not satisfactory. For a small yard this unit might put out enough fog. I’ve tried two brand-new propane cylinders and have fiddled with the flame adjustment knob to no avail. I think if the unit had a slightly bigger burner or a larger propane orifice it would work much better. |
